AIUTC Rajasthan Holds Executive Committee Meeting in Jaipur, Dr. S.M. Ahsan Ijaz Honoured with Title of ‘Sher-e-Tibb’

Jaipur: A meeting of the Rajasthan State branch of All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) was held under the chairmanship of the organisation’s National Vice President, Professor Ghulam Qutub Chishti. The session included an in-depth discussion on the celebration of World Unani Medicine Day.

The General Secretary of AIUTC, Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, attended the meeting as the Special Guest. He congratulated Unani doctors for their selfless voluntary services and highlighted the achievement of organising 100 free Unani medical camps within just four years. He attributed this success to the sincerity, voluntary spirit, and dedication of the members. He emphasised that such initiatives not only raise awareness about Unani medicine among the public but also spread a positive message of service to society.

On this occasion, Dr. S.M. Ahsan Ijaz of Gorakhpur was honoured with the title of “Sher-e-Tibb” (Lion of Medicine) in recognition of his 35 years of voluntary work in promoting and developing Unani medicine.

The meeting also resolved to fully support the celebration of Unani Medicine Day, which is observed on February 11 by the Government of India and several state governments. Since 2011, the central committee of AIUTC has been organising World Unani Medicine Day on February 12 each year. Members agreed to actively participate in the event in Delhi to further disseminate the message globally and increase the reach of Unani medicine.

Prominent participants included Professor Shahid Ali Khan, Professor Irshad Ahmed Khan, Professor Syed Muhammad Shafiq Ahmed Naqvi, Professor Sabir Ahmed, Dr. Shamim Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr. Wasi Ahmed Chaudhary, Dr. Shahid Hasan, Israr Ahmed Ujjaini, and Sagheer Ahmed (former Secretary, Rajasthan Urdu Academy), among others.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Syed Abdul Mujeeb, General Secretary of AIUTC Rajasthan.
