Kolkata: An emergency meeting of All India Unani Tibbi Congress, West Bengal Unit, was convened at Hotel Executive Tower, Ananda Pally here Saturday. The meeting was presided over by the newly elected State President of the organisation, Prof. Dr. Md. Asadullah.
Committee members held detailed discussions on key issues concerning the growth and future of the Unani system of medicine in West Bengal. To strengthen the organisational structure and ensure effective functioning, new responsibilities were assigned to several office bearers. Dr. Safdar Ismail was unanimously appointed as Secretary, while Dr. Abu Lais took charge as Treasurer. Other members were also entrusted with specific roles aimed at advancing and promoting the Unani system.
The proceedings were held under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Mojibur Rahman, National Secretary of the All India Unani Tibbi Congress. A comprehensive roadmap was also formulated to enhance the reach and recognition of Unani medicine in the state.
Participants pledged to work collectively towards implementing the proposed plans and to strive for the rightful recognition of Unani medicine in society.
The meeting was attended by several prominent members, including Dr. Shakeel Ahmed (Titagarh), Dr. Kulsoom Azmat, Dr. Tofik Alam, Dr. Ashok Das (Titagarh), Syed Muhammad Izhar, Dr. Rehmatullah Rahmani, Diana, Heather William, Dr. Shahid Pervez, Dr. Pervez Alam (Durgapur), and others.
