Ajmer Muslims Protest Yati Narsinghanand’s Blasphemous Remarks

Ajmer: A large protest was held outside the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishti, condemning controversial remarks made by Yati Narsinghanand.

Syed Sarwar Chishti, president of Anjuman Committee, led the protest, sharply criticizing Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the central government for failing to take action against Narsinghanand’s blasphemy. Protesters called for immediate arrest of Yati Narsinghanand for his inflammatory speech.

Chishti, who also serves as Anjuman Committee’s secretary, took aim at not only the government but also the gaddi nashins of other dargahs. He noted that while FIRs had been filed against several individuals, including Nupur Sharma, no arrests had been made. He questioned whether those in power were fulfilling their duty, saying, “The Prime Minister and Chief Minister are supposed to uphold Rajdharma. Is Rajdharma truly being observed in this country? What can we expect from the government in these circumstances?”

Chishti emphasized that India’s 30 crore Muslims seek to live in peace and that people from all religions come to the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti.

He also urged leaders of other dargahs to speak out, highlighting that even Khwaja Garib Nawaz’s dargah had been the target of claims that it was built on a temple, yet no one addressed these allegations. Chishti reminded everyone that Khwaja Garib Nawaz had millions of devotees and stressed that the country’s reputation should not be tarnished.

Syed Gulam Kibriya, another prominent member of Anjuman Committee, called on the central government to take strong legal action against individuals who make such blasphemous and divisive statements.
