27 Apr. 24: In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent remarks regarding “infiltrators,” Akbaruddin Owaisi, the AIMIM leader and brother of Asaduddin Owaisi, delivered a powerful rebuttal, reaffirming the integral role of Muslims in Indian society. Speaking at a public meeting in Hyderabad, Telangana, Owaisi challenged the notion that Muslims are outsiders, emphasizing their deep-rooted connection to the nation.
Owaisi began by questioning the stereotype that Muslims are characterized by large families and infiltration. He cited examples of prominent Indian leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah, and Narendra Modi, all hailing from families with multiple siblings. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and his siblings numbered seven, while Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah, and Narendra Modi each came from families of seven and six siblings respectively. By highlighting these figures, Owaisi sought to debunk the misconception surrounding Muslim demographics and their commitment to the nation.
Drawing attention to India’s rich cultural heritage, Owaisi emphasized the significant contributions of Muslims to iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal, Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Char Minar. He underscored that Muslims have played an instrumental role in shaping the country’s cultural fabric, thereby rejecting any narrative that portrays them as outsiders or infiltrators.
