Akhilesh Yadav Criticizes Yogi Adityanath Over Unemployment Claims in Uttar Pradesh

Prayagraj: Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government, accusing Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of failing to address rising unemployment in the state. Yadav’s remarks came in response to Adityanath’s claims during the India Today Conclave, where the CM stated that job creation had been facilitated during the Kumbh Mela, reported the India Today.
Challenging these claims, Yadav asserted that the employment opportunities being touted by the government were minimal and largely restricted to temporary work, such as bike riders ferrying pilgrims during the event. He criticized the administration for not providing sustainable employment solutions for the youth, arguing that joblessness remains a major issue in Uttar Pradesh despite repeated promises by the ruling BJP.
In response to opposition criticism regarding the upcoming Mahakumbh, Yogi Adityanath defended the event, referring to it as ‘Mrityunjay Mahakumbh’ and emphasizing its spiritual and cultural significance. The exchange highlights the ongoing political friction between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party, with unemployment emerging as a key issue in the discourse.
