Aligarh: The Department of Ilaj bit Tadbeer, Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University, organised a free Bone Mineral Density (BMD) screening camp as part of its community outreach initiative. The camp was aimed at the early detection of osteopenia and osteoporosis while also spreading awareness about preventive measures and timely therapeutic interventions.

Prof. Syed Mohammad Safdar Ashraf, Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine, and Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College inaugurated the camp. They were joined by Prof. Asia Sultana, Chairperson, Department of Ilaj bit Tadbeer, Prof. Mohd Anwar, Dr. M. Saad A. Khan, Dr. Mohammad Shoaib, and Dr. Safia Usmani.
More than 100 patients, including university employees, attended the camp and availed themselves of the free screening facility. Those diagnosed with bone health issues were provided with free treatment and counselling by the department’s medical team.
Faculty members emphasised that such initiatives are crucial in addressing lifestyle-related health concerns and ensuring timely medical intervention for better well-being.
