Al Falah Graduates Say Media Frenzy Has Destroyed Their Futures After Delhi Blast

New Delhi: Graduates of Al Falah University said they are facing social pressure, job rejection and public suspicion after the Delhi Red Fort car blast that killed thirteen people. Four doctors linked to the university were arrested. Students said the media reaction has turned an entire campus into a target.

Doctors from the 2019 MBBS batch reported sharp drops in patient visits at the university hospital. They said the blast and the coverage that followed created fear among employers and the general public. Dr Faiza and Dr Kirti, both alumni, said television debates pushed unverified allegations that labelled the institution a hub of extremism. They said there was no history of radical conduct by faculty. They added that several members of the early teaching staff came from the Armed Forces medical services. They said the campus had a near equal mix of Muslim and Hindu students.

Students also corrected misinformation about the arrested doctors. They said Dr Muzammil was a junior resident and not a professor. They said they worked with him during emergency postings and never saw extremist behaviour. They described Dr Shaheen and Dr Umar as experienced teachers. They said no one in their batch had seen political or ideological messages in classrooms or clinical training.

The university administration condemned the blast and said the arrested faculty had no link with the institution beyond their official roles. They said they are cooperating with investigators. Students said the Association of Indian Universities removed Al Falah from its rolls after media reports. They said the website is down and a NAAC notice has created fear that the institution will close.

Students said poor administrative controls allowed a few individuals to exploit gaps. They demanded an inquiry into hiring practices. They also asked the Ministry of Education to give a formal statement that protects the value of their degrees. They said a government verification portal for employers would prevent collective punishment. They said the media must avoid sensational claims that place entire communities at risk.
