Al-Shifa Monthly Celebrates 30 Years: Urdu Medical Magazine Defies Decline with Unwavering Success

New Delhi, Feb. 18: In a momentous celebration held at the head office of All India Unani Medical Congress (AIUMC) in Daryaganj here, Senior journalist Syed Khalid Hussain (Singapore) unveiled a special issue of Al-Shifa Digest, commemorating the completion of 30 years of publication. The event marked a significant milestone for Al-Shifa, a distinguished medical magazine in Urdu from Delhi, amidst an era where Urdu readership has seen a decline. The steadfast publication of Al-Shifa despite these challenges was hailed as a remarkable achievement by Hussain, who commended Editor Syed Ejaz Hussain for his unwavering dedication.

Speaking at the event, General Secretary of AIUMC, Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, emphasized the importance of Al-Shifa’s accessibility through its use of simple Urdu language. He praised the magazine’s reputation as a family-oriented publication and acknowledged the substantial contributions from members of AIUMC and Unani pharmaceutical societies towards its success. Dr. Khan emphasized the inseparable relationship between Urdu and Unani medicine, advocating for every Unani doctor’s engagement with the magazine to enhance both language proficiency and medical knowledge.

The event also saw the participation of esteemed medical professionals, including Dr. Syed Arif Junaid, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Dr. Ghiyasuddin Siddiqui, Hakeem Aftab Alam, Hakeem Muhammad Murtaza Dehlavi, Muhammad Taseem Khan, and Nadeem Arif, who shared their insights and reflections on the occasion. Muhammad Imran Qanoji extended gratitude to all participants, emphasizing the collective effort that has sustained Al-Shifa over the past three decades.
