Al-Urwatul Wusqa: JIH Women’s Wing Launches Online Qur’an Academy

New Delhi: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Women’s Department has inaugurated an Online Qur’an Academy, “Al-Urwatul Wusqa,” aimed at connecting women and girls with the Holy Qur’an through structured courses in Urdu. The academy was launched during an inspiring virtual event on Sunday, which was conducted via Zoom and streamed live on YouTube. The Online Qur’an Academy, “QAIM – Qur’an Academy to Illuminate Minds” will be inaugurated tomorrow for learners in the English language.

The event was graced by S. Ameenul Hasan, Vice President of JIH, who emphasised the Qur’an’s timeless relevance.

He remarked, “The Qur’an is not just a book but a comprehensive guide that shapes individuals and transforms societies. This initiative ensures that its light reaches every home.”

Prof. Munisa Bushra Abedi, Executive Committee Member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), underscored the importance of understanding the Qur’an.

She said, “The Qur’an provides answers to life’s challenges and strengthens our connection with Allah. Programmes like these are crucial for nurturing spiritually enriched communities.”

Shaista Rafat, National Secretary of JIH, highlighted the necessity of making Qur’anic education accessible to all.

She stated, “The Qur’an is the foundation of our faith and a source of solutions to our everyday problems. This academy will empower women to implement its teachings in their lives.”

Atiya Siddiqua, Director of JIH (Expansion and Consolidation), emphasised the need to preserve linguistic and cultural identity while fostering education.

She said, “This platform not only promotes Qur’anic education but also preserves the Urdu language, ensuring that women and girls stay connected to their roots.”

Aasiya Tasneem, Assistant Secretary of JIH and one of the academy’s mentors, also participated in the event and shared her reflections.

She noted, “The Qur’an is a divine treasure that provides guidance for every aspect of life.”

The event was also attended by Rahamathunnisa, National Secretary of JIH, and Arefa Parveen, Assistant Secretary of JIH, along with other notable personalities, who expressed their enthusiasm for this initiative. They commended the Women’s Wing for its efforts to make Qur’anic education accessible and inclusive.

The academy’s courses will be conducted by seven qualified mentors who will guide learners through comprehensive and structured pathways, ensuring a deep understanding of the Qur’an’s meanings and teachings. This initiative aims to cater to individuals of all ages and backgrounds, making Qur’anic learning accessible regardless of location.

The launch of “Al-Urwatul Wusqa” reflects Jamaat-e-Islami Hind’s commitment to advancing Qur’anic education and addressing the spiritual and intellectual needs of diverse communities. Interested individuals can register for the courses by filling out the provided Google form and joining the designated WhatsApp group.

By combining modern technology with the timeless teachings of the Qur’an, this initiative marks a significant step towards spreading the light of Qur’anic knowledge, preserving cultural identity, and strengthening bonds with the Divine Word.
