All India Unani Tibbi Congress Condoles Demise of Masroor Ahmad Khan, Great-Grandson of Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan

New Delhi: The All India Unani Tibbi Congress, Delhi, held a condolence meeting at Daryaganj, New Delhi, following the death of Masroor Ahmad Khan. The late Masroor Ahmad was a direct descendant of the illustrious Sharifi family and, by lineage, the great-grandson of Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan.

He remained deeply devoted to Hakim Ajmal Khan’s mission throughout his life and often expressed regret that Hakim Ajmal Khan had never been awarded the Bharat Ratna. He was also pained by those who treated Hakim Ajmal Khan’s legacy as mere spoils to appropriate, by the failure to put that legacy to proper use, and by the unlawful occupation of his properties. He would frequently remark that despite Hakim Ajmal Khan’s wholehearted contribution – body, soul, and wealth – to the freedom movement, the indifferent treatment meted out to this towering figure in independent India was beyond comprehension.

Masroor Ahmad Khan passed away on September 9, at a government hospital in Delhi, and was laid to rest at the Delhi Gate graveyard.

Those who attended to offer condolences included Tej Lal Bharti, National President of the Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan Forum for Peace and Communal Harmony, along with Dr. Syed Ahmad Khan, Sheikh Alimuddin Asadi, Dr. Ishrat Kafeel, Dr. Shamsul Afaq Siddiqui, Dr. Shakeel Ahmad Merathi, Dr. Ghiyasuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Mufti Javed Anwar, Dr. Khursheed Alam, Dr. Shamsuddin Azad, Advocate Shah Jabeen Qazi, Israr Ahmad Ujjaini, Mohammad Owais, Waseem Siddiqui, and Mohammad Imran Kannauji, among others. The gathering concluded with prayers for the departed soul.
