New Delhi: The All India Unani Tibbi Congress organised a condolence meeting in Daryaganj, New Delhi, presided over by Professor Mushtaq Ahmed, to mourn the demise of Professor (Hakeem) Mohammad Husain Jafri. It may be noted that Professor Jafri passed away in his native village, Sarsi Makhdoompur, at the age of about 85 on 27 November 2025, and was laid to rest there after Friday prayers on 28 November.
Professor Mushtaq Ahmed said that he was a knowledgeable and capable person. Along with teaching medicine, he also graced many gatherings with his presence. He always felt joy in helping students and teachers, which earned him great popularity. In particular, he devoted his life to teaching and training in medicine at the Rajputana Unani Medical College and Hospital in Jaipur.
Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, Secretary General, All India Unani Tibbi Congress, also expressed deep sorrow and said that when he was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Manaf‘ul A‘za at Rajputana Unani Medical College, Jaipur, in 1988-89, Professor Jafri was counted among the senior faculty. He greatly supported him during his service at the college. Professor Jafri was also a Unani expert at the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. By a fortunate coincidence, Dr. Khan, too, was later appointed an expert at the Commission, and as a result, they were together many times at the Public Service Commission in Ajmer. He was deeply impressed by the activities of All India Unani Tibbi Congress and always encouraged their efforts.
Prof. Ghulam Qutub Chishti, Haji Anees Ahmad Alvi, Professor Syed Parvez Mian Warisi, Prof. Irshad Ahmed Khan, Prof. Mohammad Azam Ansari, Prof. Syed Shafiq Ahmed Naqvi, Dr. Mahmood Ahsan Siddiqui, Prof. Abdul Majeeb, Chaudhry Mohammad Munawwar Khan and Hakeem Mohammad Muzammil Ansari also offered their condolences, and prayers for forgiveness were made on his behalf.
