Ambedkarite Groups Protest RSS Activities in Aurangabad

Aurangabad: On October 24, 2025, members of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) organized a protest march in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, demanding a ban on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The protest, termed ‘Jan Aakrosh Morcha,’ commenced at Kranti Chowk and was intended to proceed to the RSS office. However, the police intervened midway, citing law and order concerns.

The protest was sparked by a recent incident where two youths, Rahul Makasare and Vijay Wahul, were booked by the police after opposing an RSS membership drive near a government engineering college. VBA leaders criticized the police for acting without a formal complaint from the RSS and questioned the organization’s legal status, alleging it is not a registered entity.

During the protest, participants carried copies of the Indian Constitution and the national flag, demanding transparency from the RSS regarding its registration. VBA leaders, including Siddharth Mokale and Amit Bhuigal, joined the demonstration, emphasizing the need for accountability and adherence to constitutional values.

The police initially denied permission for the march but later allowed it following a written application from the organizers. Despite the intervention, VBA leaders reiterated their commitment to opposing RSS activities and vowed to continue their efforts until the organization complies with legal and constitutional norms.
