AMP Celebrates Excellence in Education at 8th National Awards on Teachers’ Day

The Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) hosted the 8th AMP National Awards for Excellence in Education 2024 on Teachers’ Day at Ravindra Bhawan, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The event, which recognized the outstanding contributions of educators across India, drew a significant audience, including dignitaries, awardees, and members of the academic community.

Shri Digvijay Singh, former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Member of Rajya Sabha, served as the Chief Guest. In his address, he underscored the critical role of teachers in nation-building and commended AMP’s commitment to engaging Muslim professionals in societal upliftment, particularly in the realms of education and healthcare.

The awards were distributed across seven categories, with several notable recipients, as per a report published in AMP official website.

Prof. Furqan Qamar was honored with the Late Ibrahim Quereshi Memorial Award for his distinguished service in the field of education. Lifetime Achievement Awards were presented to Hazrat Maulana Sayyed Muhammad Aqil, Jamaluddin Ahmad Khan, Sharifa A. Azeez, and Sheila Lawrence for their long-standing contributions to education.

A special segment titled “My Favourite Teacher” celebrated 50 educators, selected through votes from students and parents across the country. This segment highlighted the profound impact that teachers have on their students’ lives.

Dr. Usha Khare, a recipient of both National and State Teacher Awards, shared her journey of promoting education for girls in underprivileged areas. Her story, including a generous donation to the school from which she retired, served as an inspiration to all present.

The event marked another milestone in AMP’s expanding influence, with a presence in over 200 cities in India and a growing network of volunteers worldwide. The AMP team expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success, celebrating the unwavering dedication of teachers who continue to shape the future of education.
