Aligarh: In yet another proud milestone, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has reinforced its legacy of academic excellence by securing the top position among all Government Universities in India for offering the highest number of postgraduate courses. Demonstrating its unmatched breadth in higher education, AMU has been ranked No. 1 with an extraordinary 148 postgraduate programmes, the largest in the country.
This remarkable distinction highlights AMU’s role in shaping India’s educational landscape – combining quality, diversity, and accessibility – and reaffirms its position as a frontrunner in the pursuit of excellence in higher education.
According to the India Today–MDRA Best Universities Survey 2025, AMU secured the top position by offering an impressive 148 postgraduate programmes, the highest in the country. This recognition reflects AMU’s dedication to academic excellence and its ability to cater to a wide spectrum of disciplines.
