Aligarh: Underscoring its humanitarian responsibility in the field of community health, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon, along with senior officials including the Pro Vice Chancellor Prof M. Mohsin Khan and Registrar Prof Aasim Zafar, adopted 100 tuberculosis (TB) patients, reaffirming its commitment to public health and community service.

Professor Mohammad Shameem, Chairperson, Department of Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases, informed that the programme aims to provide comprehensive care, regular monitoring, nutritional assistance and essential supplements in the form of “Poshan Potli” to 100 TB patients during the course of their treatment and follow-up.
The initiative highlighted the importance of compassionate medical practice and collaborative efforts in combating tuberculosis, a disease that continues to pose serious health challenges.
With this step, Aligarh Muslim University reaffirms its mission to serve society through healthcare, education and research, setting an example of how academic institutions can contribute to national health priorities.
