AMU Employees Shot Inside Campus, Attackers in Custody

25 Jul. 24: In a shocking incident at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), two employees were shot by motorcycle-borne assailants within the campus on Wednesday, according to police reports.

The victims, identified as Mohammad Nadeem and Kaleem, were traveling on a two-wheeler inside the university grounds when they were stopped by two attackers on a motorcycle. The assailants fired at close range, leaving both employees seriously injured.

University security, alerted by the gunfire, swiftly pursued the attackers, capturing them and handing them over to the police. The suspects are currently in police custody and being questioned, as per a report by the Deccan Herald.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the attack stemmed from an old enmity. The injured employees are receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital, as confirmed by AMU Proctor Mohammad Wasim Ali, says the report.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the exact motive behind the attack.
