AMU Faculty Member Participates in Int’l Governance Programme at Fudan University, China

Aligarh: Dr. Md Yasin, Assistant Professor of Chinese in the Department of Foreign Languages, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), recently participated in the 2025 Summer School on Comparative Governance for Neighbouring Countries, held at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs (SIRPA), Fudan University, Shanghai, from June 3 to 20.

During the programme, Dr. Yasin presented a paper titled “China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI): The View from New Delhi.”

The programme brought together 20 participants from 14 countries, including diplomats, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and academic researchers, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The intensive training covered a wide range of topics through 15 expert-led lectures on China’s political institutions, fiscal and climate governance, the role of the Communist Party of China in governance, China’s engagement with the Global South, and its international development strategies, including regional cooperation frameworks such as ASEAN.

As part of the programme, participants visited the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress to gain insights into the city’s governance structure and its strategic vision to emerge as a global hub of innovation and opportunity.
