Aligarh: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) continues to script success stories as Nabeela Khan, a B.Sc. Biochemistry student from Women’s College, played a crucial role in leading Uttar Pradesh to a gold medal triumph at the Federation Cup 2025 Roller Skating Derby Championship, held in Bikaner, Rajasthan.

Representing Team Uttar Pradesh, Nabeela displayed stellar skill and determination, helping her team secure victories in the pool stage, including a commanding 44–11 win against Tamil Nadu. In a thrilling final, Uttar Pradesh defeated hosts Rajasthan 26–12 to lift the coveted title.
Adding to AMU’s pride, Syeda Laiba Ali, a recent Class X pass-out from the University, also featured in the state team, reflecting AMU’s growing culture of promoting sports among women.
Nabeela’s journey to the state squad was propelled by an impressive performance during a 10-day training camp in Mohali in 2024, where her speed and consistency caught the selectors’ eyes. She is no stranger to national success, having previously earned five medals on the National Roller Derby Circuit, including three golds.
Balancing sports with academics, Nabeela has also twice qualified the NEET examination, embodying the spirit of holistic excellence nurtured at AMU. Her achievements have made the university proud.
