AMU Holds Solidarity Rally in Support of Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor

Aligarh: In a powerful display of patriotism and solidarity, students and faculty members of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) held a rally titled “Rashtra Pratham” to express support for the Indian Army’s successful Operation Sindoor, conducted on the night of May 7 against terrorist hideouts. The march began at the NSS office and proceeded to Bab-e-Syed, drawing enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, students from various departments and schools, and university staff, reported the Dawat News.
Participants carried the national flag and chanted slogans promoting unity and national pride. The atmosphere resonated with patriotic fervor and a collective sense of commitment to the nation. The rally honored the bravery and sacrifices of Indian soldiers, with special recognition given to Lt. Col. Sophia Qureshi and Major Vyomika Singh for their exemplary leadership and professionalism during the operation.
Speaking on the occasion, AMU’s PRO in-charge, Prof. Vibha Sharma, emphasized the necessity of a strong response to provocations from across the border. AMU Proctor Prof. Wasim Ali stated, “Our soldiers have made the nation proud. The university community stands united with the country.”
Several senior university officials, NCC and NSS officers, faculty members, and non-teaching staff joined the march. Prof. Rafiuddin from the DSW office, NSS Coordinator Dr. Mohammad Mohsin Khan, various hall provosts, and senior faculty were also present.
Students pledged their unwavering dedication to the country’s peace and integrity, expressing pride in the courage and strategy displayed by the armed forces. The event concluded with spirited chants that reinforced the deep bond between AMU’s student body and the nation’s military forces.
