AMU Malappuram Centre Launches Week-long Eid Milad-un-Nabi Celebrations

Malappuram: The Seerat Committee of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Malappuram Centre inaugurated the week-long Eid Milad-un-Nabi 2025 celebrations at the Moot Court, Faculty of Law, on Thursday.

The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Mohammad Imran (II Year BALLB), followed by a welcome address from Dr. Sadaf Jafri, Assistant Professor, Department of Education.

Prof. M. Shahul Hameed, Director of the Centre, delivered the inaugural address, emphasising the significance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in nurturing moral and spiritual values. He encouraged students to draw inspiration from the Prophetic model of compassion, honesty, humility, and service to humanity. Dr. Mohammad Basheer K., Assistant Professor, Department of Education and Convener of the Seerat Committee, also addressed the gathering.

Students Zulqarnain (BALLB) and Shifa Nadeem (II Year B.Ed.) presented Na’at recitations, while Dr. Syed Ahmad Saad, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration, delivered a special address. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sameer (II Year MBA).

As part of the celebrations, inter-departmental competitions including essay writing, Na’at recitation, poster making, calligraphy, and speech contests will be held, offering students a platform to showcase their talents and reflect upon the noble teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
