AMU Malappuram Conducts Legal Awareness Camp in Wayanad

Aligarh: The Department of Law, AMU Malappuram Centre (Batch 2020), successfully conducted a Legal Awareness Camp in Wayanad, Kerala, as part of the B.A.LL.B. 10th Semester curriculum. The initiative was carried out under the guidance of Centre Director Dr. Faisal K.P. and Coordinator Dr. Shahnawaz A. Malik.

Organised in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Wayanad, and supported by Secretary Mr. Aneesh Chacko, the camp featured visits to the Valliyoorkavu tribal settlement and an old-age home at K.U. Para-legal volunteers Libin P.B., Athira P.K., and Bindhu T.K. coordinated on-ground efforts, while Advocate Joseph briefed students on outreach strategies.

The academic team, including Dr. Ghalib Nashter, Advocate Prabitha C., and Dr. Shakil Ahmad, led sessions on POCSO and NDPS Acts, community engagement, and legal rights. Students provided legal education and social support, translating classroom learning into impactful fieldwork.

The camp served as a model for integrated legal education, strengthening ties between AMU, DLSA, and the local community.
