Aligarh: The Fashion Design & Garment Technology Section of Community College, Aligarh Muslim University, hosted a ground-breaking one-day workshop on CLO 3D Virtual Fashion Design on May 8. Aimed at B.Voc and M.Voc fashion design students, the workshop attracted over 40 enthusiastic participants. It provided a unique platform for budding designers to explore futuristic tools and elevate their creative potential.
Dr. Azhar Jameel, Principal University Polytechnic and the Nodal Officer of Community College, praised the students’ passion and innovative thinking. He urged them to continue participating in technology-driven fashion events that align with global industry trends.

Dr. Sheeba Kamal, the Course Coordinator and convenor of the event, in her welcome address emphasised the rising impact of Artificial Intelligence in fashion design and encouraged students to master digital tools like CLO 3D for long-term career growth.
The highlight of the workshop was the session led by Mrs. Adeeba Saleem, guest instructor at CPC and founder of IDFT. She introduced participants to the dynamic realm of virtual fashion design. Her session shed light on the increasing relevance of CLO 3D in the global fashion industry, especially in creating realistic garment simulations and digital prototypes.
Students gained practical experience in digital garment creation, fabric behaviour simulation, and virtual fitting on avatars. They explored the software interface thoroughly and learned to navigate its key features efficiently. Mrs. Saleem emphasised how virtual fashion promotes sustainability by reducing fabric waste and cost.
The learning experience allowed students to understand how CLO 3D bridges the gap between traditional techniques and modern innovation. The session ended with a Q&A and live demo presentations showcasing students’ impressive 3D fashion models.
Ms. Nimra Khan introduced the resource person. The session was conducted by Miss Nikhat Malik, while Ms. Nazia Begum moderated the workshop and delivered the vote of thanks.
