Aligarh: Prof S. Moied Ahmed, Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care, J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University attended a national conference on ‘Critical Care Medicine’ at Government Medical College, Jammu & Kashmir as a Guest of Honour, and conducted a Difficult Airway Workshop as its director.
The difficult airway workshop comprised video-based didactic lectures, hands on training and case discussions. He moderated a difficult airway case and discussed the various techniques of managing difficult airways and demonstrated various methods of performing surgical airway both on manikins and animal models.
Later, delivering a lecture, Prof Ahmed focused on Airway management of critically ill patient in ICU, adding that the airway management is very critical as the safety margin is very narrow, as the morbidity and mortality is very high compared to routine elective cases.
