Aligarh: To mark the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the research scholars of the Department of Business Administration, Aligarh Muslim University, organised an interactive seminar highlighting his life, contributions, and enduring relevance in contemporary society and management.
Chairperson of the Department, Professor Salma Ahmad, commended the scholars for organising a meaningful academic engagement and urged participants to uphold the values of social justice and critical thinking exemplified by Dr. Ambedkar.
She said that the seminar served as a platform to reflect on Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable legacy in the fields of education, constitutional development, and social reform.
Dr. Ahmad Faraz Khan delivered a thought-provoking address underscoring Dr. Ambedkar’s intellectual strength and courageous voice. He emphasised Ambedkar’s relevance in today’s socio-political and management spheres and praised the scholars’ dedication to the event’s objectives.
The seminar featured a series of insightful presentations. Onaiza Sultan reflected on Dr. Ambedkar’s transformative role in drafting the Indian Constitution and the influence of his educational background on his ideology. Zeba Danish echoed this sentiment, describing him as the “Architect of the Constitution” and drawing attention to his call to “Educate, Agitate, and Organise.”
Sumit Tomar addressed the persistent challenge of casteism, urging the audience to question whether society is truly civilized or silently complicit in injustice. Affan Ahmad discussed the continued significance of Ambedkar’s vision amid growing social inequalities.
The session was moderated by Tooba Fatma Bilgrami, who introduced the objectives and relevance of the seminar. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Sania Khan.
