AMU Skating Club Captain Shahzeb Khan to Participate in World Skates Games 2024

Shahzeb Khan, Captain of Skating Club and student of B.Tech. (III Year), Aligarh Muslim University, has been selected to participate in the World Skates Games 2024 in Italy.

Prof. Syed Amjad Ali Rizvi, Secretary, University Games Committee, and Prof. Mazhar Abbas, President, Skating Club, congratulated Shahzeb on this remarkable achievement.

Prof Rizvi said the event will provide him with a significant opportunity to showcase his talent on an international stage and bring laurels to India. Ali Akbar, Former Skating Coach, has been instrumental in providing him with appropriate training.

Omar Peerzada, PRO of AMU, told Radiance that AMU has the best Skating facility and for many decades AMU stands for best skating teams for both girls and boys in different categories and have excelled at the national level and have represented Indian national team also and has brought laurels to both the country and the university.

Some of the shining stars of AMU Skating Club who brought laurels for India are:

  1. Atif Hassan won bronze medal in Macau in 2008.
  2. Mohammad Haris participated in World Roller Hockey Championship held in Columbia in 2014.

3 Ashab Ahmad participated in Under-20 World Roller Hockey Championship held in Vilanova, Spain in 2015.

4. Nayeem Ur Rehman won silver medal in World Roller Games held in Nanjing, China in 2017.
