Aligarh: Two students from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Mohammad Amanullah Farooqi and Santosh GM, played a crucial role in helping the Indian roller hockey team secure a silver medal at the 20th Asian Roller Skating Championship held in South Korea.
Both players were selected by the Roller Skating Federation of India to represent the country in the prestigious event. They delivered exceptional performances in matches against PR China, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, and Japan, contributing significantly to India’s medal tally.
Mohammad Amanullah is a final-year BSc (Computer Applications) student, while Santosh GM is pursuing his final year in MBA (Finance). Their dedication and skill brought pride not only to India but also to AMU.
The medal winners met with AMU Vice Chancellor Professor Naima Khatoon, informing her about the team’s success and their own achievements. The Vice Chancellor congratulated both students and said, “Their inclusion in the national team is a matter of great pride for the university. I hope AMU players will continue to represent India and bring home gold medals in the future as well.”
