AMU Students Lead Participation in ‘Clean Aligarh, Healthy Aligarh’ Campaign

Aligarh: The Aligarh Municipal Corporation launched its mission “Clean Aligarh, Healthy Aligarh” with the inaugural ceremony presided over by the Mayor and Municipal Commissioner in the presence of the Member of Parliament, MLAs, MLC, Divisional Commissioner, and other dignitaries. A large number of students and teachers from Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were present on the occasion. The rally was flagged off by Member of Parliament Mr. Satish Gautam.

From AMU’s Department of Social Work, Prof. Mohammad Naseem Khan (former Chairperson), Dr. Mohammad Tahir, Dr. Mohammad Arif Khan, Dr. Shyna Saif, Dr. Mohammad Uzair, and Dr. Sameera Khanam actively participated along with their students. AMU’s NSS Coordinator Dr. Mohammad Mohsin Khan and AMU’s Member-in-Charge, Public Relations Office, Prof. Vibha Sharma were also present in the inaugural session.

AMU students will now carry out outreach activities in the coming weeks by visiting homes, markets, and localities to spread awareness. They will encourage residents and shopkeepers to use bins, avoid dumping waste in drains, keep surroundings clean, and refrain from spitting in public. Through these outreach efforts, AMU students will contribute actively to making Aligarh a cleaner and healthier city.

AMU administration reiterated that the university considers partnership in community welfare initiatives as part of its social responsibility and will continue to extend active support to campaigns related to cleanliness, environment, and public health.
