Aligarh: The Ahmadi School for the Visually Challenged inaugurated a Mental Health Awareness Programme with great enthusiasm in the Assembly Hall, marking a significant initiative aimed at promoting psychological well-being among the teaching and non-teaching staff.
Delivering an insightful keynote lecture, the chief guest, Prof. Shah Alam, Chairman, Department of Psychology, underscored the growing need for mental health awareness in educational settings. He stressed the importance of early intervention, emotional resilience, and the cultivation of a supportive institutional environment.
Prof. Alam encouraged participants to practise empathy, maintain a positive outlook, and manage emotions effectively. He also spoke on the value of realistic self-awareness, urging individuals to recognise personal shortcomings, avoid self-deception, and focus on holistic personal development.
Earlier, the programme commenced with a formal welcome by the Principal, Dr Naila Rashid, while Avishek, a student of Class X presented the guest speaker a homemade bouquet and card.
Ms. Nudrat Jahan, PGT Physics, conducted the programme, which concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment.
