Aligarh: The Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College, Aligarh Muslim University organised a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate the winners and participants of the annual sports week, “Hustle,” which was held from October 7-14, 2024. A wide range of indoor and outdoor games were organised during the event for boys and girls, including cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, tug of war, chess, carom, Ludo, etc. A number of teachers from the Faculty of Unani Medicine also participated in some outdoor games and emerged as winner in cricket.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, the chief guest, Dr. Anwar Saeed, President, Jamia Tibbiya Deoband Unani College, congratulated the organisers and the participants, and appreciated the efforts of Prof. Badarudduja Khan, Principal of the College, in taking personal interest in organising sports events and other co-curricular activities for the all round development of students.
The guest of honour, Dinesh Khatri, Deputy CMO, Aligarh, appreciated the literary and cultural atmosphere of the A.K. Tibbiya College and urged the students to take out maximum benefits of such facilities. He said that Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) are now globally recognised medicine streams with a promising future for Unani Medicine.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Ubaidullah Khan stressed that the AK Tibbiya College and the University prioritises the overall personality development of students. He said that physical activities and co-curricular activities are as essential as academic pursuits, as they help develop teamwork and other vital life skills.
Earlier, welcoming the guests, the Principal of the College, Prof. Badarudduja Khan highlighted that Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College is the only college given to a Central University which is dedicated to the studies and research in Unani Medicine. He said that several curricular and extra-curricular activities are organised by the College, providing opportunities to its faculty and students to participate in these activities and develop their innate skills and abilities.
He congratulated the winners of the various events, with special mention of teachers who won the cricket match.
