Aligarh: Prof Amina Sultan, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi discussed the transformative role of Silver Diamine Fluoride in modern dentistry and urged the doctors of preventive dentistry to focus on this technique to promote oral health quality in society in alignment of the goals of preventive dentistry.
She was delivering a lecture on “Silver Diamine Fluoride: Shifting the focus from Clinic to Community” at a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) programme organised by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dr Z.A. Dental College, Aligarh Muslim University.
She elaborated on the versatile applications of silver diamine fluoride (SDF) in checking dental caries, its cost-effectiveness and its potential as a minimally invasive treatment, particularly in community dental programmes.
The Chairmanship of the department, Prof. Saima Yunus Khan welcomed the participants, adding that the CDE aimed to bring together dental professionals and students to discuss advancements in paediatric dental care.
The lecture session was followed by an interactive discussion providing the participants with an opportunity to raise queries, enhancing their learning experience.
