Aligarh: In commemoration of World Environment Day, the Department of Ilaj Bit Tadbeer, Faculty of Unani Medicine at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), organized a meaningful campaign titled “Say No to Plastic” to raise awareness about the grave consequences of plastic pollution and to encourage the adoption of sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives.
As part of the campaign, an awareness seminar was held, focusing on educating students, faculty, and patients about the dangers posed by single-use plastics to human health and the environment. The seminar emphasized the urgent need for responsible consumption habits and effective waste management strategies.
Postgraduate students took part in the initiative with enthusiasm and dedication, playing a pivotal role in the success of the event. Dr. Safia Usmani addressed the gathering and stressed the importance of eliminating single-use plastics from our daily lives. She applauded the initiative and commended the proactive involvement of students in supporting global efforts to combat plastic pollution.
The campaign highlighted AMU’s ongoing commitment to environmental consciousness and public health.
