Student Unions Urge CM to Take Action Against RSS to Ensure Communal Harmony at AU

Vijaywada: The State committees of Student Federation of India (SFI), All India Student Federation (AISF), Progressive Democratic Students’ Union (PDSU), Progressive Democratic Students Organisation (PDSO) and All India Students’ Association (AISA) condemned the alleged attack on SFI and AISF leaders “opposing RSS activities that spread hatred in the name of religion in universities.

”In a statement, leaders of the unions demanded strict action against those responsible for the attack. They alleged that the RSS had been conducting activities at Andhra University for some time now to turn students into religious fanatics.

The participants urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to initiate immediate measures to curb the activities of the RSS within the university campus. They also demanded the arrest of RSS activists and BJP-affiliated unions. They alleged that they are disturbing the peaceful atmosphere in the campus by raking communal issues indulging in attacks on students, teachers and staff.
