Baran, July 23: Anjuman Ittehad-e-Bahmi organized a significant protest demonstration in Baran city on Tuesday, demanding immediate arrest and strict legal action against those responsible for the recent attack on a Tazia procession. The incident, which occurred on July 17, has escalated communal tensions in the area.
Leading the protest, Ahtishamuddin Siddiqui, President of Anjuman Ittehad-e-Bahmi, condemned the anti-social elements that targeted the procession. He urged the administration to take prompt and decisive action to prevent further incidents and warned that failure to do so would compel the community to take stronger measures.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at Anjuman Chowk Baran at 10 a.m., where they submitted a memorandum to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, and the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The memorandum called for the registration of FIRs and appropriate action against those involved in the attack. It also included a DVD containing six videos documenting the events of July 17.
Among the speakers at the protest were Ashraf Deshwali, Zakir Parshad, Abdul Aziz alias Ajju Parshad, Vaseem Mansoori, and Anjuman’s General Secretary Abid Hussain Ansari. The demonstration was organized by Zakir Rangrez, highlighting the community’s unified stand against the violence and their demand for justice.
