Baran, Mar. 6: On Tuesday, a free eye checkup, consultation, treatment, and lens implantation camp was organized by Anjuman Ittehad-e-Bahmi (AIB), with the financial assistance of District Blindness Control Society.
Shahid Iqbal Bhati, AIB spokesperson, said the free eye checkup and operation camp was organized at Anjuman Marriage Hall, Baran, under the chairmanship of AIB president Ahteshamuddin Siddiqui. The camp was organized in collaboration with District Blindness Prevention Committee, Baran district, and on orders of Dr. Sampat Raj Nagar, Chief Medical and Health Officer, Baran.
The camp was held from 10 am to 1 pm by Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Senior Ophthalmologist, Kota, and his team.
Dr. Gupta and his team examined the eyes of 81 patients. Medicines and glasses were given free of cost to the patients who needed them. Nineteen patients were identified for surgery. The team left for Kota with all the identified patients.
The patients who were selected for lens implantation will have it done free of cost by Dr. Gupta, Senior Ophthalmologist, at Eye Hospital Civil Lines Nayapura Kota. Free arrangements have been made to take the selected patients to Kota, stay there, eat, and bring them back to Baran after lens implantation. All patients will be given free sunglasses after lens implantation.
The patients who didn’t require lens implantation were given free medicine and the number of glasses prescribed. Patients can get spectacles with the number given from anywhere they want.
Haji Iqbal Hussain was the convenor and Haji Master Ayyub co-convener of the camp.
Iqbal Hussain Bharat Medical, Master Ayyub Ali, Haji Ashfaq Hussain, Abid Hussain Bablu alias Iftikhar Ahmed, Abdul Aziz alias Ajju Bhai Councilor, Shahadat Hussain, etc. played a special role in making the camp a success.
AIB is a joint organization of Muslims of Baran district, doing social service from time to time.
