Anjuman Taraqqi-e-Urdu, Delhi Branch, has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of the distinguished contemporary poet, writer, and intellectual, Bashir Badr. On this occasion, the office-bearers and members of the organisation paid tribute to his literary, poetic, and cultural contributions and offered prayers for the forgiveness of the departed soul.
In his condolence message, Anjuman President Iqbal Masood Farooqi said that Bashir Badr was a shining star of Urdu ghazal, who enriched Urdu literature through his unique poetic style, simple yet powerful expression, and promotion of human values. He stated that with his demise, the Urdu world has lost a creative genius whose absence will be felt for a long time.
Vice President Idris Ahmad said that Bashir Badr’s poetry reflected love, tolerance, and the beauty of human relationships. His work enjoyed equal popularity among both the masses and the intellectual elite and would continue to serve as a guiding light for future generations. He added that the late poet’s literary contributions would always be remembered as a historic treasure of the Urdu language and literature.
Secretary Khurshid Alam said that Bashir Badr gave new meaning and contemporary sensitivity to the Urdu ghazal. He described him as a compassionate, humble, and literature-loving personality. His demise, he said, is an irreparable loss to Urdu literature. He also extended heartfelt condolences to the deceased poet’s family, students, and admirers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of Bashir Badr, and supplications were made to Almighty Allah to grant him a place in His mercy and to bless his bereaved family and loved ones with patience and strength.
