Another Hindu Man Lynched Over Cows in Haryana, Gorakshaks Turn ‘Narbhakshaks’

New Delhi: A day after performing the last rites of his son, who was lynched by cow vigilantes in Haryana, Bhavar Lal, a devout Hindu from Rajasthan, grappled with both rage and sorrow, reported the Print.
“These aren’t gau rakshaks (cow protectors); they are narbhakshaks (cannibals),” said Lal, seated in the courtyard of his recently built home in a small village near Kesrisinghpur, Rajasthan. His two other sons were en route to Haridwar, Uttarakhand, with the ashes of their 28-year-old brother, Sandeep, as per Hindu tradition.
Sandeep was murdered near Palwal by a group of self-styled vigilantes while transporting two cows to Lucknow with his colleague. The tragic irony is that the five accused in the crime were acting on a tip-off provided by a special police officer, raising serious questions about law enforcement’s role in such violent incidents.
The case highlights the growing menace of cow vigilantism in Haryana, where even those with valid paperwork for cattle transportation face brutal attacks. Concerns over police complicity and the rise of mob violence continue to escalate, leaving families like Lal’s devastated and seeking justice.
