Mumbai: The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) Maharashtra organized an awareness program at Scholar High School, Jogeshwari, to emphasize the importance of civil rights protection and promotion.
The event began with the opening remarks of Mr. Fazlur Rahman, who also served as the host. Advocate Ishrat Ali Khan presented a comprehensive report on APCR Maharashtra’s achievements, activities, and future plans, highlighting the organization’s commitment to safeguarding civil rights.
APCR Maharashtra President, Mr. Aslam Ghazi, addressed the topic “The Importance of Human Rights in Islam,” emphasizing the principles of human rights in Islamic teachings and the responsibilities of Muslims in upholding them. APCR Vice President, Mr. Abdul Karim Pathan, spoke on the objectives and necessity of the organization, stressing the urgent need to protect civil rights in the current socio-political climate.
The APCR President, Advocate Yusuf Machchala, delivered an insightful discussion on “The Challenges Faced by Waqf and Its Protection.” He highlighted the issues concerning Waqf properties and urged practical steps for their preservation.
The program concluded with prayers for the nation’s progress and the protection of civil rights. The event successfully raised awareness and inspired participants to take proactive measures in defending civil liberties.
