Jaipur, August 16: The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) Rajasthan, led by State President Advocate Syed Saadat Ali and General Secretary Muzammil Rizvi, conducted a fact-finding visit to Bhilwara and Udaipur districts to assess recent communal tensions. The visit aimed to gather first-hand information and understand the underlying issues from the perspectives of local residents and intellectuals.
In Bhilwara district, the team investigated the communal clashes that erupted last month in areas such as Paroli, Mandal, Rayla, Bhimganj, Kotwali, and Kotda during the Muharram period. A particularly disturbing incident of a cow being set on fire was also reported. To gain insights, APCR representatives met with the families affected by these clashes and local community members.
Advocate Abdul Rashid, District President of APCR Bhilwara Unit, provided detailed information on the various incidents and facilitated meetings with victims’ families and intellectuals. He highlighted the need for concerted efforts to restore communal harmony in the region.
During the visit, APCR’s Udaipur District President, Advocate Kamar Hussain, shared information about past legal programs organized by APCR in the district and briefed the team on recent incidents. The organization emphasized the importance of increasing legal awareness among the public to prevent future conflicts. General Secretary Muzammil Rizvi distributed folders and pamphlets to raise legal awareness and urged the expansion of APCR’s outreach efforts.
APCR’s leadership stressed the need for more legal awareness programs to empower victims and called for an increase in the number of APCR workers to provide support at the grassroots level. The organization also appealed to all communities to maintain peace and work together towards communal harmony.
