Malappuram – In a bid to inspire youth towards embracing global career avenues, the Anvarul Islam Arabic College in Kuniyil hosted an extension lecture on Wednesday, highlighting the increasing global relevance of the Arabic language, reported the Hindu.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Ubaidur Rahman from the Centre for Arabic and African Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Addressing a packed audience of students and faculty, Prof. Rahman urged Arabic learners to look beyond traditional roles and tap into international opportunities in diplomacy, translation, education, media, and multinational business sectors where Arabic proficiency is in growing demand.
“Arabic is no longer just a religious or regional language,” Prof. Rahman said. “It is a key that opens doors to global interactions, academic research, and international careers.”
College Principal Mohammed Favas presided over the event, and faculty members including Arabic Department Head Shakir Babu Kuniyil, staff secretary K.P. Abdul Haleelm Thangal, C.V. Shoukathali, P. Firos, and P. Sulaiman Farooqui also addressed the gathering.
The lecture is part of a broader effort by the college to promote Arabic language studies as a pathway to global engagement and empowerment.
