Artists and Activists in Kochi Remember Gaza’s Children Through ‘Names of Gaza’

Kochi: A moving cultural evening titled ‘Names of Gaza’ was held in Kochi to remember the children of Gaza who lost their lives in the ongoing conflict. The programme brought together actors, writers, and activists who used art and performance to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, reported the Madhyamam.

The event featured college students performing dabke, the traditional Palestinian folk dance, symbolising resilience and resistance. Participants held placards with messages such as “Long Live Gaza” and “Peace for Palestine”, underscoring calls for justice and an end to violence.

Speakers at the gathering stressed that remembering the children of Gaza was not only an act of mourning but also a reminder of the urgent need for peace. They highlighted how art and literature serve as powerful tools to amplify the voices of the oppressed and to resist silence in the face of injustice.

The ‘Names of Gaza’ event, while rooted in remembrance, carried a strong message of hope, unity, and cultural resistance against war and occupation.
