Kharghar: Scholars at the three-day Tablighi Ijtema stressed the urgent need to promote marriages in accordance with the Sunnah while avoiding extravagance. On the second day of the Ijtema, Mufti Ilyas, Maulana Farooq, Mufti Abdul Wahab, and Maulana Saad Kandhalvi addressed different sessions, reinforcing these principles. They emphasized that this blessed tradition should remain simple, ensuring ease of practice and preventing it from becoming a financial burden, particularly for the underprivileged.
The gathering saw over 250 marriages registered, with the aim of popularizing the practice of modest and blessed weddings. Scholars highlighted that the community squanders millions on lavish wedding expenditures fueled by ostentation and publicity. They urged people to abandon such wasteful practices and embrace simplicity.
In his address, Tablighi Jamaat leader Maulana Saad Kandhalvi underscored the significance of Sunnah, stating, “Considering Sunnah insignificant is a great loss. Remember, those who neglect Sunnah eventually lose out on obligatory acts as well.” He likened the Sunnah to Prophet Noah’s ark, stressing, “Only those who board it will attain salvation; therefore, adhering to Sunnah is essential.”
The Tablighi Ijtema in Kharghar is set to conclude tonight with special prayers. Organizers urged attendees to adhere to guidelines while returning home to avoid any disruptions. Strict compliance with the planned departure schedule for pedestrians, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and buses was emphasized to ensure a smooth and orderly dispersal.
