Ayodhya: The Ayodhya administration has mandated the closure of all poultry and meat shops in the district during the Navratri festival, which runs from October 3 to October 11. The directive, issued by the Assistant Commissioner of the Food Safety and Drug Administration, is intended to preserve the religious sanctity and spirit of the nine-day Hindu festival, reported The Times of India.
According to the official order, the sale of goat, chicken, fish, and all other meat products is prohibited in the district throughout the festival period. The administration has urged the public to report any violations, such as the sale or storage of meat, by contacting the Food Safety Department through a provided phone number, 05278366607. Strict legal action will be taken against those found flouting the order under the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act of 2006.
