B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen Masjid Inaugurated at Majlis Edu Park, Mudipu

Mangaluru: The B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen Masjid, built in memory of the late B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen, was inaugurated at Majlis Edu Park, located near Mudipu in Konaje on Saturday. The mosque, a tribute to his father, was constructed by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, the founder of the Thumbay Group.

As per a Vartha Bharati report, the inauguration ceremony was led by Udupi Samyukta Qazi, Alhaj M. Abdul Hameed Musliyar Mani, who also offered prayers during the event. Sharaffussadat Sayyed Ashraf Assaqaf Al Madani Thangal Adhur, the founder of Majlis Edu Park, presided over the event. He emphasized the importance of education in the Muslim community and praised Dr. Mohiudeen for his generosity and commitment to community service. Thangal Adhur highlighted that the establishment of Majlis Edu Park was the result of collective efforts, and the mosque stands as a testament to shared values.

Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker UT Khader, who attended the event, expressed pride in the completion of the mosque, which was built at a cost of Rs 1.35 crore. He noted that the B. Ahmed Hajee Mohiudeen Masjid would become a significant religious hub in the Ullal taluk and a center of excellence for the region.

Abdulla Kunhi, representing the Yenepoya Group, lauded Dr. Moideen’s vision in constructing the mosque. He also acknowledged the Thumbay family’s contributions to building mosques and madrasas throughout the region, praising Dr. Moideen’s foresight and dedication.

Dr. Thumbay Moideen shared the inspiration behind the mosque’s construction, recounting how a conversation with Speaker UT Khader, UT Ifthikar Ali, and Adhur Thangal led to the decision to build the mosque in his father’s name. He remarked that both his father and Adhur Thangal were strong advocates for education, and the mosque symbolizes their shared principles.

During the ceremony, Dr. Thumbay Moideen and Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor of Yenepoya University, were honored for their contributions. Several notable figures, including BM Ashraf of the Thumbay family, Sayyid Shaheer Al Bukhari Malhar Thangal, Dr. MSM Abdurrashid Zaini Kamil, Badusha Saqafi Alappuzha, and Muhammad Ali Saqqafi Ashhariyyah, were also present.

The program commenced with Quranic recitation by Hafiz Irfan, and the event was anchored by Aamir Hassan from Australia. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sayyid Miraj Al Hadi Thangal.
