Trivandrum, Kerala, Jan. 23: The Students’ Islamic Organisation (SIO) Kerala hosted an Anti-Hindutva Racism Conference titled ‘Babri is the Only Justice’ here. The event witnessed the convergence of prominent figures and intellectuals who expressed their strong opinions on the Babri Masjid demolition and its aftermath.
Abdul Hakeem Nadvi, Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Kerala inaugurated the conference while SIO State President Mohammad Saeed TK presided over the proceedings. The speakers included journalist and activist Baburaj Bhagwati, writer Jolly Chirayath, film director Prashant Ezhavan, and activist Kuttappan PA.
Prashant Ezhavan declared, “Only the hysteria of Upper caste Hinduism, which destroyed the 500-year-old Babri Masjid, is held in Ayodhya today, on January 22, 2024.”
The sentiment was echoed by Bhagwati, who expressed his solidarity, “I feel as if we are gathered at night around a dead body to be buried tomorrow.”
The conference also featured thought-provoking perspectives from Nahas Mala, Ambika, CT Suhaib, and GIO Kerala President Adv Tamanna Sultana.
The resolution was presented by SIO Kerala Secretary Mishub Shibili, encapsulating the collective sentiments and demands put forth during the conference.
Vahid Chullipara, Secretary of SIO Kerala, delivered concluding remarks, emphasizing the need for continued dialogue and awareness surrounding the issues discussed. The conference, marked by its intense discussions and controversial viewpoints, has left a lasting impact on the discourse surrounding Hindutva, the Babri Masjid, and communal harmony in India.
