Bareilly, Aug 31: On Thursday, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi, National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, released a “Muslim agenda” on the first day of the Urs-e-Razvi of Ala Hazrat here. Maulana Razvi, who is known to give controversial statements related to Muslim issues (like supporting CAA, predicting zero seats for SP in the recent Parliamentary elections), expressed strong opposition to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which Prime Minister Modi mentioned during his speech from the Red Fort. Maulana Razvi made it clear that Indian Muslims are not willing to accept any laws that interfere with Shariah, including the UCC.
In a stern warning to the government and political parties, Maulana Razvi pointed out that it has become common for individuals to disrespect the honor of Prophet Muhammad, with no action taken against them. He demanded the introduction of a ‘Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Bill’ in Parliament or State Assemblies to prevent any blasphemy in the future.
Maulana Razvi asserted that Muslims are ready to make any sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the country. However, he strongly condemned the politics that spread hatred between Hindus and Muslims, stating that such divisive tactics would not be tolerated. He also emphasized that the Muslim community could not endure injustice, oppression, and discrimination for long. He called on governments and political parties to address these issues seriously and change their approach toward Muslims.
Maulana Razvi condemned the attacks on Hindu homes and temples during the coup in Bangladesh, labeling these actions as highly deplorable. He also called on the United Nations to intervene in the Israel-Palestine conflict and hold the United States accountable for the deaths of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza.
Addressing the Muslim community, Maulana Razvi emphasized the importance of focusing on education, business, and family welfare. He urged Muslims to work towards eradicating social evils and proposed the establishment of separate schools and colleges for girls.
However, going against the current view of most Islamic scholars and intellectuals, Maulana Razvi voiced support for the Waqf Amendment Bill. He advocated for the proper maintenance of Waqf properties and the utilization of their income to support poor and vulnerable Muslims, helping to alleviate poverty within the community.
