Bagalkote: Savitri Katanalli is the topper in MA Urdu from Raichur University this year.
Basappa’s daughter Savitri, coming from a remote village Rakkasagi in Hundgund taluka, was admitted to Urdu Primary School just because it was close to her place. Thereafter for secondary education she joined the Anjuman-e-Islam’s Urdu Medium High School in nearby town Ilkal. Later her own interest continued her to undergo undergraduate and post-graduation in Urdu.
Her elder sister studied in Urdu medium and is now working as a headmistress in Manvi town in Raichur district since 2007.
