BC Community’s Demands are Genuine, and We Fully Support Them: Dr. MKM Zafar

Warangal: The BC community in India has endured social discrimination for centuries, and even after Independence, they have largely been treated as mere vote banks by the upper castes. Despite forming over 60% of the population, their representation in legislative bodies remains disproportionately low, with only 19 MLAs, whereas the upper castes, constituting just 6% of the population, have secured more than 40 MLAs in Telangana.

To address this long-standing injustice and demand rightful representation in education, employment, and politics, Teenmar Mallanna and his team organised ‘Rajakiya Yuddhabheri’ in Warangal on February 2. The event witnessed the participation of thousands of BC community members, who rallied together in a call for social justice.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) actively participated in the event, reaffirming its commitment to justice and equality. Dr. MKM Zafar, President of JIH Telangana, emphasised that the demands of BC community leaders are legitimate and assured JIH’s unwavering support in their struggle. He highlighted that JIH had earlier played a crucial role in the Telangana movement under the slogan “Justice for Telangana and Telangana for Justice.”

Several prominent social leaders from across India also joined the gathering, voicing their solidarity with the cause. The movement continues to gain momentum as marginalised communities unite in their fight for equitable rights and representation.
