Bhatkal: Shams PU College will host a research-driven science fair on November 20, bringing together 46 teams that will present scientific models aimed at addressing social issues. The event is managed by the Tarbiat Education Society and organized with support from the AJ Academy of Research, Raichur.
Principal Liaqat Ali said the fair seeks to promote research-focused learning among students. He explained that the objective is to move beyond routine demonstrations and encourage young participants to study real social challenges and propose practical scientific interventions.
Shams PU College Administrator M. R. Manvi said 155 teams from schools and colleges across Bhatkal taluk registered for the event. From these, 46 teams were selected after review. He added that students will present research papers, findings, and working models throughout the day.
The inaugural ceremony will begin at 9:30 AM. Dr. Mohammed Zubair Kola, Vice President of Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen, will serve as the chief guest. Dr. Virendra Shanbhag, Principal of New English PU College, will attend as the guest of honour.
Organizers have arranged separate visiting hours. Institutions and students can visit between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Women can visit from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Men can attend from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
Awards will be given to students who present strong research and model work. The organizing team urged parents, teachers, and residents of Bhatkal to attend and support the students. They said engagement from the community will strengthen the culture of scientific inquiry and research among the youth.
