Bhopal Qazi Urges Muslims Youth to Refrain from New Year Celebrations

Bhopal Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadwi has called on Muslim youth to avoid New Year celebrations and instead dedicate the occasion to offering namaaz (prayers).

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Qazi Maulana Mushtaq Nadwi stated, “Islamic principles do not endorse New Year celebrations. Therefore, I urge all young boys and girls to refrain from late-night parties associated with the occasion. Instead, they should focus on offering namaaz and praying for everyone,” reports Free Press Journal.

Maulana Mushtaq Nadwi has been serving as Nayab Qazi at the Bhopal Dar-ul-Qaza for over 20 years. His statement comes as New Year’s Eve preparations are in full swing, with pubs, restro-bars, and hotels across Bhopal organising grand celebrations. Late-night parties, often featuring alcohol, are common.

Also, popular tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh, such as Orchha, Chanderi, Gwalior, and Ujjain, are experiencing a surge in visitors, with hotels fully booked. Safari packages at locations like Kuno National Park, Madhav National Park, and National Chambal Sanctuary, offered by Madhya Pradesh Tourism, are also sold out.
