New Delhi: Senior AAP leader and former Delhi CM Atishi criticized her successor, Rekha Gupta, for failing to approve the ₹2500 per month scheme for women in the first cabinet meeting. Gupta took oath as CM after BJP’s internal wrangling over the post.
Despite promises from PM Modi, HM Amit Shah, and BJP, the scheme was not approved, Atishi said in a video.
“The BJP repeatedly made this promise, with PM Modi and Rekha Gupta reaffirming it, even this morning,” she noted.
She called it a betrayal of Delhi women’s trust.
“This morning, Rekha Gupta assured approval of the scheme in the first cabinet meeting, yet BJP has already broken its promise,” Atishi said.
“The BJP government has decided to deceive Delhi from day one. It is disheartening that a woman CM has broken a promise made to women immediately after taking office,” she concluded.
